First Hour returns after a long hiatus with an updated site and all the original reviews.
Over ten years ago, I began to lose interest in writing for First Hour. I didn't run the site to make money, but simply to have a creative outlet. That turned into making a bunch of friends who all contributed for nothing more than their own love for gaming and writing.
Those friends, and all the hard work everyone put into First Hour, are why I spent the last few months resurrecting the site. I don't plan to write a lot, but I found I missed it, and we have over a decade of games to catch up on together.
As I rebuilt the site and read our reviews, I found myself smiling, cringing, and grieving. I personally developed as a writer from 2007, but some my reviews from the first few years made me wince in my immaturity as a writer and human being. I decided not to remaster the content of our reviews though, they were written by us between 2007 and 2013, that context is relevant.
Our First Hour family has lost two members in the last few years: Paul Abbamondi in 2019 and Tyler "Tucker" Smith in 2021. I miss both of them dearly and will write about them soon.
As First Hour moves into a new era, one without comment sections or an archaic CMS, I look forward to seeing you around.
At the very minimum, the website at least works now.
